Pro-Tec Equipment offers a few different types of Aluminum trench shield (trench box) systems. The ATS Series is a lightweight trench shield (trench box) system designed to be used by rubber-tired backhoes and loaders. The Steel Framed Aluminum Trench Shield combines the best of a steel trench box and an aluminum trench box into one. The MOD Series is lightweight and strong but it is also modular, where even the largest modular panel is designed to be easily transported by pickup truck, if desired.

The Pro-Tec Equipment Aluminum Trench Shield (ATS) Series is a lightweight trench shield system designed to be used by rubber-tired backhoes and loaders. The ATS is ideal for municipalities and utility contractors.

The 4AEX is a rugged, 4" wall shield that comes standard with a tough, top cap and rugged aluminum knife edge. Massive, extruded end members insure strength while with its aluminum body, the 4AEX can be handled by today's lighter excavators, allowing you to match your equipment to the proper machine.

Modular Aluminum Trench Shield

The Pro-Tec Equipment MOD Series is a modular aluminum trench shield system that is lightweight and easily transported via pickup truck. It can be used as a 2-, 3- or 4-sided system with existing components and can be changed on the fly at a job site to meet the job’s requirements.

Mod Sheeting Guide System

Designed to provide crews with a safe working environment, while dealing with crossing and existing utilities, the MOD Sheeting Guide System also allows for the use of rubber-tired backhoes.

A component aluminum trench shield, built off of the MOD Series, the MOD Sheeting Guide System incorporates aluminum sheet pile, sheet stoppers, and corner post to provide crews with the safe working environment they require.

Specially designed steel corner posts, used in conjunction with the MOD Sheeting Guide Panels allow up to 4' of clearance from the bottom of the panel to the bottom of the excavation. Meaning a two foot tall post and MOD Sheeting Guide panel can provide six feet of protection!

This unique, versatile, aluminum trench box system can be used in 2-, 3-, and 4-sided configurations.

MOD Assembly

Quick and Easy Assembly

Lightweight 2-foot high aluminum panels are easily unloaded from a pickup truck by hand without the use of machines. No lifting is equipment needed.

MOD-1-Assemble

Step One

To begin assembling the shield, two corner end-posts are pinned to side panels and rear panel.

Side and rear panels are stacked to desired height.

Corner end-posts are pinned in place.

Step Four

Adjustable spreaders pin securely in place to complete a 3-sided shield.

Combining the best of steel trench boxes and aluminum trench shields, the Steel Framed Aluminum Trench Shield enables smaller machines (rubber tired backhoes, small excavators) to be used by contractors, municipalities, utility companies, and anyone operating smaller machines, yet requiring a strong, durable trench box.

The Steel Framed Aluminum Trench Shields from Pro-Tec Equipment are designed to use common, 5" sch. 80 spreader pipe and are available in 4" thick sidewalls.

The Quad Strut is a patent pending, multiple phase tube strut that enables rental locations to maximize fleet utilization by taking the place of three spreader set sizes, with one!

Additionally, the Quad Strut is designed to be used as an end-loadable strut Aluminum Trench Shields, providing an adjustable strut that is able to go from 36” to 96” (.9m to 2.4m)!  Each Quad Strut weighs 160 pounds (72 kg) and includes all pins and keepers.  Now the Quad Strut is able to used on the MOD Series, further increasing both the MOD Series and Quad Struts versatility!

The ASG System

Designed to provide crews with a safe working environment, while dealing with crossing and existing utilities, the Aluminum Sheeting Guide (ASG) System also allows for the use of rubber-tired backhoes.

A component aluminum trench shield, similar to the Mod Series, the ASG system incorporates aluminum sheet pile, sheet stoppers, spreaders, corner post and support post (which double as a way to attach the Pro-Tec Equipment Guard Rail system), to provide crews with the safe working environment they require.

This unique, versatile, aluminum trench box system can be used in 2-, 3-, and 4-sided configurations.

Standard Features:

  • Smooth wall panel design 6061-T6 aluminum construction 
  • Panel lengths of 8' and 10' depth rating of 10' in C-60 Soils
  • 60" of vertical pipe clearance with no sheeting embedment 
  • 96" of vertical pipe clearance with 24" of sheeting embedment
  • Professional Engineer Certified to meet or exceed O.S.H.A. requirements
