Pro-Tec Equipment | Working Around Existing Utilities

Existing lines seem to pop up everywhere when you are excavating. Some of them are known and planned for, others are complete surprises. To work around these obstacles, Pro-Tec Equipment has come up with several ways to keep the job progressing safely.

Equipment Needs

Smaller Projects

For smaller projects using a trench shield (trench box), the use of hydraulic shoring has proved to be an effective solution. With the versatility of hydraulic shoring, existing lines can be spot-shored and taken care of with little down time.

Larger Projects

For those larger projects using the Pro-Tec Equipment slide rail shoring system, Pro-Tec Equipment has developed our utility panel guide. It fits seamlessly in existing slide rail shoring systems and uses two-foot-wide guide sheets to help secure dirt around the utility.

Every project is unique, with different depths and other extenuating circumstances, such as: soil conditions, water levels, existing utilities and other parameters. Please contact your local Pro-Tec Trench Shoring and Shielding provider with as many details as possible to ensure you are matched with the best trench shield or shoring equipment to fit your project's particular needs.
