Pro-Tec Equipment | Placing Manholes
Manhole

Manholes can be nuisance when it comes to laying pipe. They are wider the rest of the project and require more time to set in place. To help ease this irritation, Pro-Tec Equipment has solutions for you.

Equipment Needs

Straight-line applications

Pro-Tec Equipment has four distinct options to help solve your manhole project needs. For straight-line applications (where the pipe comes into and out of the manhole on the same line), Pro-Tec Equipment offers the Man4 Series. The Man4 series can be customized with optional cutout and doors to allow for 90-degree turns in the pipe as well.

90-degree turn pipes

For projects that have pipe that makes 90-degree turns once exiting the structure, Pro-Tec Equipment offers our Octagon Manhole Shields. With removable bolt-on doors and complete solid-wall protection, this uniquely shaped trench shield solves your manhole problems while possibly saving up to 3 cubic yards of backfill.

Solid wall protection

An additional option for complete, solid-wall protection is our 4-Side Manhole (Tap Box) Shields. These shields can be custom made to fit your project needs.

Lighter options

For those that require a lighter-weight option, Pro-Tec Equipment offers our Pro-Corr Manhole Shield. Constructed of corrugated steel, the Pro-Corr is ideal for those projects using lighter-duty excavators or large rubber-tired backhoes.

Every project is unique, with different depths and other extenuating circumstances, such as: soil conditions, water levels, existing utilities and other parameters. Please contact your local Pro-Tec Trench Shoring and Shielding provider with as many details as possible to ensure you are matched with the best trench shield or shoring equipment to fit your project's particular needs.
